I can't wait to try the thread this weekend to finish one of my Dresden plates and I have a cute composition cover that I will share soon!
I tried out one of my sampler packs, but I can't keep them to myself.
I want to share the rest with you. You will receive all the types of thread available. There is a wool for for wool embroidery projects, a Mako 12 for Sashiko and Red Work, a Mako 28 for hand quilting, and a Mako 40 for your machine work. I know I am going to personally enjoy the Mako 50 for my piecing, quilting and applique! The four pack, on the left, is an Aurifil Collections Mark Lipinski's Appetizer kit.
You will receive these 9 spools of Aurifil thread pictured above. Yummy thirties fabric waiting to be sewn are not included. I am so excited to go shopping. Look at these beautiful colors... I almost want to change my header!
So... how do you win some of this thread candy?
For the first entry, enter a comment telling me why you love Aurifil or why you want to try it between now and PST 6:00pm on May 28. I will ship anywhere.
If you want 1 additional entry become a follower of this website, if you like what see, or choose one of the following: follow Auriful on wordpress, subscribe to Alex Veronelli's Aurifil YouTube account, or become a fan of Aurifil Quilt Patchwork and Embroidery Threads on facebook. Then comment that you did it! You've got to love that social media!
Good Luck! I will use a random number generator to choose the winner.

ReplyDeleteOMG an Aurifil giveaway, I'm in heaven! I'd heard loads about how good this thread is and finally bit the bullet and bought some - it's not unexpensive. But boy is it good! I honestly won't use anything else, especially for handpiecing, it's like silk, absolutely a delight to use. Oh, oh oh, I hope I'm lucky on this one, Lis xx
ReplyDeleteAnd I've signed up to follow your great blog (I'm already a Facebook fan of Aurifil), Lis x

ReplyDeleteI am now a follower-
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this. I do a lot of appliques and crazy quilting which this would be perfect for. I can't afford silk so I either use cotton quilting thread or DMC floss. I know this thread is like butter to use. I would be set for a long time with this thread if I was to win. This would be such a blessing to me. With a very tight budget a girl can only dream. Thanks for giving me a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning the lovely Dresden Plate Pillow.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to me for finding your blog. Yes, I would love to win the thread. I confess that I rarely stray from Gutermann but I am intrigued with the Aurifil wool embroidery thread. I have been playing with wool felt applique on wool fabric.
Sew Cal Gal sent me and I am so glad...would love to play with some new threads...
ReplyDeleteI recently ran a poll on my blog and Aurifil turned out to be my visitor's favourite thread for hand quilting. Take a look:
ReplyDeletehttp://sewjournal.wordpress.com/2010/05/11/thread-poll-results-and-a-new-poll-on-sewing-machines/
I would really like to win this give away. Thanks for the opportunity.
I've only used the Mako 50 thread for some background machine quilitng and I'd love the try the other kinds. Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Sew Cal Gal sent me to your blog :-).
Ohhhh...would love to try this beautiful thread for my handquilting! That would be such a treat!
ReplyDeleteI have never used Aurifil thread, but would sure love to try it for applique. Thanks for having such a great give away, Sharonj.
ReplyDeleteI am also a follower too, thanks Sharonj.
ReplyDeleteI heard the word "applique" and that perked up my ears. I love to applique and have never tried Aurifil, so would be game to try it to make stitching on my applique and better experience.
ReplyDeleteI have loved Aurifil for a long time but don't have any local shops that stock it. I'm currently working on a quilt that will have 43 appliqued flowers and 18 appliqued dragonflies .... that Aurifil would surely be appreciated. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have used the Aurifil 40 for long-arm machine quilting with great success. Very nice give-away with different threads to try!
ReplyDeleteI have never used this thread but I would love to try it. I had quite a lot of trouble doing some applique with the thread I have been using in the past. So much so that I would just give up and try a different color. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried this thread, but I have heard so many wonderful things about it, I can't wait to use it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great give away!

I have never used Aurifil thread but have heard great things about it so would love to try it.

ReplyDeleteI have never had the opportunity to try Aurifil thread. Neither of the quilting stores in a reasonable distance from me carries Aurifil. I had a quilt teacher who swore that it was the best thread and the only thread for machine work because it didn't produce lint like other brands. I'd love to see if that is true!
ReplyDeleteJan

I absolutely LOVE Aurifil because it leaves very little lint in my machine. And the threads quilt heavenly. I actually use my Aurifils for piecing AND quilting.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard Aurifil is a great thread and I would love to try it out. Thanks for the chance to win. Sewcalgal sent me over.
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower.

ReplyDeleteI have never tried this thread, but I am seeing people rave about it everywhere, so I would love to try it. I subscribe to your blog already!
ReplyDeleteI have no insider knowledge of thread, other than the basic stuff I get at JoAnn Fabrics. I guess it would be good to try new kinds and know how to compare.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win! I am working on a Pie and Tarts quilt, hand-sewn, and am having trouble with the thread I'm using - not enough choice of colors and it can be seen and should not! Getting very frustrated!
ReplyDeleteI have tried the aurifil thread. It sews very cleanly, doesn't leave fluff. What a wonderful assortment of colours they have.
ReplyDeleteAurifil thread is the best, or so I have heard from many that's true. I want to know for myself as I have never used it and would love to give it a try in my dresden quilt.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try Aurifil! I have so much trouble with knots in my thread. HELP!! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love Aurifil thread and would love to have these spools.

ReplyDeleteI would love to have a chance to use Aurifil thread. I have never tried them before. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI have used the Aurifil to make my cotton shirts and I just love the way it has a little glow when used to topstitch. It is like the icing on the cake in my garment. I would love to try the others types of Aurifil. They have a wonderful Colour Range too
ReplyDeleteI am also now a follower :-) Thankyou so much for the chance to win and experiment and play :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers
Lynne
I just recentally tried aurifil for peicing. It seems to be working very well. I will be trying it for machine quilting in a couple weeks so we will see how that goes :)

ReplyDeleteThank you again for the giveaway.
Gracias por compartir, soy un seguidor
ReplyDeleteNo he probado los hilos, me encantaria la oportunidad, graciaas por su generosidad
ReplyDeleteAurifil thread is the best! It really does glide through the fabric for hand work and it leaves very little lint behind in the machine. I love it! And, you are evil to show that color card - now I know there are lots of threads I am missing.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried aurifil thread but I would love a chance to try a thread that doesn't knot or fray when you applique. By the way Sewcalgirl made a word road over to this give away.
ReplyDeleteIt's me again, I just became a follower of your blog. So glad I found it.

I just tried a spool and fell in love. It's wonderful for piecing. Thin yet strong, very smooth too. No lint!! HooRah!
ReplyDeleteHave not tried Aurifil thread yet and I wonder what it is like to machine embroider with. :)
ReplyDeletemaskrosus@yahoo.com
My local fabric store recently got Aurifil thread. She ran a promotion so I bought a spool. Now I wish my other threads would get used up so I can buy more. I haven't had a single breaking of the thread, plus the bobbin lasts for longer than normal thread. It just handles like a dream!! Great product!
ReplyDeleteI love Aurifil - use the 50 wt cotton for piecing and quilting - wish they made serger thresd!
ReplyDeletei never used them but i would like to win it so i can try them out
ReplyDeletethey look beautiful!
thanks!
and i am a follower
ReplyDeletethanks!
I have only recently heard of this thread with only great news about. I am dying to try it out. Maybe I will be the lucky one and win the thread.
ReplyDeleteI have just started using the 50wt Aurifil thread and just love it.I only brought Grey and taupe for English paper piecing and find it's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYou can't see the joined hexagons with even dark color fabrics, looking forward to buying more.
My first experience with Aurifil thread was 6 years ago. It is the only thread I use and I just love it. My piecing is more accurate and I do not need to clean lint out of my machine very often. I love that I can get more thread on my bobbin, so I don't need to stop and wind one as often and there is so much thread on each large spool that it is a big deal when I finish one! I use beige tones for most of my piecing, but I want to have a collection of all the colors. I am adding a color when I have the extra money. The only reason I am hanging on to my OLD thread collection is color choices for mending.
ReplyDeleteI became a follower of your blog and also follow Aurifil on facebook. I have used the thread for my hand applique projects. It sews like a dream. I live in Okinawa with my military husband and haven't found any here on the island so I have to find some place to order it from the states.
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about the Aurifil thread over the last few months that I would love to try it out. Unfortunately the quilt shop I work for does not carry it, so this give away is perfect. However, if I don't win, I will definitely be ordering some from a different shop.
ReplyDeleteI love Aurifil thread and won't use anything else now for my machine piecing. It goes through the sewing machine like butter and it keeps going and going on the bobbin. I am about to quilt my first quilt with it and can't wait! I am already a fan on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to try this thread for over a year now, but keep putting it off - even though I keep hearing wonderful things about it... I am a follower of Aurifil on Facebook, and am now a follower of this blog as well :) Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be considered for winning some Aurifil thread. Everyone on the 'net' is talking about it. I also just learned that some people do their redwork with Aurifil 12wt. I do a lot of hand redwork and would love to try this as well.
ReplyDeleteI also added Aurifil to my facebook page so I can keep up to date on them as well.
ReplyDeleteI have heard so much about Aurifil thread, I am dying to try it. I'll be searching local stores that carry it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have already added Aurifil to my facebook page.
ReplyDeleteI love Aurifil 50 for my applique and have just acquired that gorgeous thread chart. Can't get enough of these beautiful threads!
ReplyDeleteI've joined your band of followers too!
ReplyDeleteJami in Iowa: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thread! I've been using it for about 3 years in my piecing. It's amazing how much better my blocks turn out. No more "fudging" to make things fit right anymore! :-) I won't use anything else!
ReplyDeleteI'm already a Facebook Fan so I'll be leaving a comment there also!!
I've been reading so many wonderful things about this thread through Facebook, and it sounds incredible!! Can't wait to try it!!!
ReplyDeleteI use Aurofil exclusively for piecing my quilt tops.I love the stitch it makes. I'd love to have the additional colors for machine applique. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI have aurofil in black and white and like to use it sometimes in the bobbin. Thanks for counting me in.
ReplyDeleteI'm following your blog, Kristen.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Aurifil but I'm trying to get back into quilting and would like some good thread to work with.
ReplyDelete9 spools! Count me in, please :)
ReplyDeleteCan't resist joining in a giveaway off. I have become as much a thread snob as a fabric and yarn snob. If I've spending valuable hours making something, I want the quality of the materials to be worth it. Aurifil is what I use whenever possible.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say "offer."
ReplyDeleteI would like to win the thread as I have heard it is great thread. Thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeletemichelle@campnc.com
I would love to try Aurofil thread...I hand applique and knots-oh yeah I know about knots!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I LOVE aurofil thread and have been piecing with it for a few years...luckily we have a dealer close by. My fav part is how a bobbin can last all day!
